IGNITION is South Africa's only dedicated TV motoring platform. Broadcasting on DStv channel 265 every weekend from midnight on Fridays to midnight on Sundays, the channel offers a seven hour loop of new content every weekend.

Apart from international programmes covering anything from drag racing to classic cars, bikes and our flagship magazine programme Auto Mundial, IGNITION also has its own homegrown motoring magazine programme, IGNITION GT. Hosted by Marius Roberts, this half hour weekly show offers petrolheads a good dose of what's new on the South African vehicle market. There's also our Buyers Guide programme, offering viewers helpful advice on choosing their next new/used car.

IGNITION began broadcasting on DStv 412 in October 2008, with an initial 2 hours looping eight times per weekend. In July 2009, IGNITION moved to a new home on DStv 265, expanding its loop to 6 hours of content. Our goal is to inform, engage and entertain our viewers on anything and everything related to motoring.

IGNITION is the third channel in a stable that includes Summit TV and The Home Channel. Between them, our three channels, under the banner of African Business Channel, hold the attention of more than two and a half million viewers a week. On a broader scale, ABC falls under BDFM, the company responsible for Business Day and Financial Mail. BDFM is 50% owned by Avusa (previously Johnnic).
